What do I need to get started?

Medical Statement: This is required for all courses. To complete this form, you answer either “yes” or “no” to each question. If any of the answers are a “yes”, no problem, you will need to take the form to your doctor to sign off as well. If all the answers are “no”, you will not need to have a doctor sign off.

Open Water Diver: Scuba quality mask, fins, snorkel, Log Book and course materials. 
Prerequisites: Must be 10 years old or older.

Advanced Open Water Diver: Basic scuba gear (scuba quality mask, fins, snorkel, BCD, regulator & wetsuit), compass, Log Book and course materials.  Additional equipment needed depends on the specialties that you choose.

Prerequisites:
      – Must be a PADI Open Water Diver  (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
      – 15 years old (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver)

Rescue Diver:  Basic scuba gear, dive computer and accessories. Your crewpak includes the rest of the items you need for the class.

Prerequisites:
      – Be 12 years or older
      – Have a PADI Adventure Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
      – Be trained and current for First Aid and CPR within the previous two years (Ask your instructor about Emergency First Response, CPR and first aid courses).

Specialty Diver:  The requirments and prerequisites vary. For courses with dives, you will need basic diving gear – plus some specialty items, for non-diving courses (such as Nitrox Diver), you will need a dive computer.

Prerequisites:
      – Be 12 years or older
      – Have a PADI Adventure Diver certification (or have a qualifying certification from another organization)
      – Be trained and current for First Aid and CPR within the previous two years (Ask your instructor about Emergency First Response, CPR and first aid courses).
